Can I use at home on mains power but with the battery removed – to explain am disabled and use a laptop because of size etc but always at home so if I can use on the mains/A/C power without the battery installed it would be plus as my present Aspre 5742Z battery is still installed but holds very low battery capacity as  thought I had to keep it installed when on mains power as it is on for 10 hours per day so wish to clarify for my new laftop before I brng it into use - make/model quoted in Subject line?

Yes, you can use the notebook with the battery removed and only use it on AC power. However, I would still recommend you performing a full charge and power cycle on the battery. This will ensure that you get the most out of your battery when you do use it.
