Acer E1-572 touchpad problems

Hello,

When I use my touchpad on windows 8.1, it frequently doens't work and the only solution to make it work again is to press the power button to put the notebook in to sleepmode and start it up again.

It happens especialy when I am dragging/selecting something in windows 8.1, then the left touchpadbutton keeps dragging while I released it already.

An other problem is when the mousepointer doesn't respond to the actions of the touchpad anymore. When I touch the touchpad the mousepointer doesn't react, and it only reacts when I use the 'dragmethod'. That means that when I hold the left touchpadbutton the mousepointer moves and when I don't hold the left touchpadbutton the mousepointer won't react.

Is this a familiar problem with the touchpad of the E1-572?

I use Synaptics v17.0.6.13 driver in windows 8.1

    Have you updated your BIOS?

Are you using the latest Synaptics driver from the Acer support site? On my E3 the driver is on version 18 I think.

Anyone solved this issue already? I have the dragging problem on my E1-572G with the left touchpad button.

Updating the BIOS to the newest Version (v2.17) solved the issue for me.

No theres no point in that. I cried a little inside, cursed towards ACER, and vowed not to buy their products again.

I have to live with a wireless mouse that I take with me everywhere I take my laptop to.

I wonder if the upgrade to win 10 would help?
