I absolutely love my Aspire S7. It is super light, fast and the touch screen is absolutely terrific. It has a beautiful desing.....
However, after one year, I am trading it in. The major shortfall is the lack of sufficient SSD. I would have gladly paid $1300, $1400, $1700, $1800 or whatever to get everything I wanted. I spend hours on it every day. So I want to get the right product with all of the necessary capabilities. Hence, I can't imagine why they don't have an option with 512 SSD or more for that matter. After searching the entir market, I have found that there are a couuple of other options with much more SSD capacity and mor memory capacity. However, the overall design is not as good. Maybe next year.

Hello!
It's difficult from Acer's (or any OEM for that matter) point of view to produce a machine that everybody wants with all the latest features/technology for the right price. A balance needs to be struck!
You could always just buy your own SSD, and fit that inside your S7. Then you'd have the "dream" machine you're looking for!

Hi do you have the manual for upgrading the SSD inside S7-392?
any mSATA brand recommended?
Thanks.

This reply may be too late for you:
I have replaced the SSD with a Samsung EVO840 / 500GB; Samsung also makes anaffordable 1TB device.
The replacement won't be a RAID, and theoretically not as fast as the original drive; in practical use, I haven't experienced any speed issues.
You don't need a manual: First make the Acer-recommended USB bootable backup. Then remove the back shell, and you will see the standard-size M-SATA drive, held down by a single screw. Replace with the new SSD and re-install the back (The middle screw at the spine needs to be firmly seated: it reconnects the power).
Install the system by booting from the prepared USB. then the somewhat tricky part: edit the registry to enable AHCI (google how-to); then re-boot into the S7 BIOSand switch the disk interface from RAID to AHCI.
That's it: good luck!
