Acer Aspire v5 571p 6648 Cracked Screen

My laptop has a cracked screen and so the touch function will not work anymore. I looked all over the internet for the KL.15605.005 replacement but I cannot find one with a digitizer or touchscreen. I would like to keep the touch screen function on my laptop but I need to replace the screen for cheap. Can anyone tell me where I could find a replacement?

I'm looking to do the same.  Does anybody have any feedback to share?

Re: Acer Aspire v5 571p 6648 Cracked Screen

I also have a cracked digitizer on my Aspire v5 571P-6648.  The LCD works fine after it stops throwing phantom touches all over the screen.  It is very frustrating, especially when I still owe most of the cost of a computer I can barely use.  I was told by the store where I bought it that repairs would cost as much as a new one. Since then I have tried to find a way to disconnect the touch screen so I could use the thing at least.  So far nothing has worked for me.  Microsoft Community says turn it off in Control Panel, but there is no such configuration in Windows 8 they say to use.  (Control Panel - Hardware and Sound - Pen and Touch.)  I have been trying to shut off the trouch screen by disabling the devise driver that inputs the touch screen, but don't know which one to disable.  Something would be better than nothing.

Fellows, in all three cases, I think your best bet is to take your machine to a reputable computer shop and explain your problem to them.

Lee, you could try setting a System Restore Point, and then carefully disable, one at a time, touchscreen drivers. But it's possible that you aren't able to find what you're looking for in Control Panel. For all of these solutions, SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT FIRST. Try this:

Go to Control Panel,

then Hardware and Sound,

then Pen and Touch,

Click Touch tab and unclick box that says "Use your finger as an input device."

If that doesn't work,

1) Go to Control Panel

2. Select Hardware and Sound

3. Select Device Manager

4. Select Human Interface Devices

5) USB input device

Having already set a System Restore Point (Right?), try disabling the touchscreen items one at a time.

Some computer list "Multi-Touch Devices" under Device Manger. If so, go there and select Properties, and it will give you an option to disable.

Hope this helps.

No You don't gentlemen.  If you have patience and time you can repair the screen...  If you have repaired a cracked screen on an iphone or ipad, you can repair the screen.  We just need to find a reseller for the screen.
