Acer Aspire V7 582PG: loses network from time to time

My Acer came with windows8. Since it doesn't have an easy way to shutdown the system, so I just let it on all the time, and the laptop will go through awake-sleep-awake-sleep cycles before it's woken up again.

I noticed every once a while it will not be able to connect to network (ethernet) when woken up and I have to restart the system to correct the problem.

do you have the same issue with you Acer as well?

Are you running Windows 8, or have you upgraded to Windows 8.1? Either way, make sure you have the latest LAN drivers loaded on your system. You can find all driver downloads at http://www.acer.com, click Support, then Drivers and Manuals. If you have updated drivers and are still having the problem, you may try resetting your modem and router by removing the power for 10 seconds, then plugging them back in.
