Hello,
I just recieved my new Acer Aspire V5 573G and a Samsung 840EVO mSATA.
My plan was to put in the mSATA and get the whole lot on there, instead of on the standard 500gb HDD. This turned out not to be as easy as i thought, which explains why i am here now.
Is making a Factory Default disc with the Acer Recovery Management tool, using that to install everything on the mSATA and formatting the 500GB HDD afterwards going to work?
Thanks
Julho
Sorry for doubleposting, but, if i just build in the mSata and do a "factory default recovery" by using the Recovery Management tool, will i be given the option to select a disc where windows will be installed on, or will it automaticaly take the 500GB HD?

A different problem seems to have appeared. The mSata isnt even recognised in windows 8.1 (Disk Manager and Device Manager) but it is in the BIOS.

Hi Jimmy41
What's your status. Did you get windows 8.1 to recognise your SSD ?
How did you install w8.1 ? (clean install or factory default recovery) ?
I have purchased a similar Acer (V5-561G) , found my w8.1 key, and would like to replace the HDD with an SSD and do a clean install of w8.1
Anyone else who sucsessfylly has replaced their HDD with a SSD and done a clean install of w8.1 ?
Hints and tips would be greatly appriciated
