I have just purchased this item, Do I need to install a Security Disk, like Norton, Kaspersky etc., or does it come pre-loaded.

I have Kaspersky Internet Security 2013, in my old laptop, and have been very happy with stopping spam etc.,

Not sure what to do as not set my new one up yet.

I don't know 100% but if you want to check, you could always go to Control Panel, click on Programs and Features, and then browse what's installed. If you recognize security software you're happy with, then you're good. If there isn't any or you don't like the program installed, then uninstall the program you don't want and install the one you want. Of course, I would highly recommend you use some sort of protection at all times. Hope that helps.
