I was replacing the heatsink in the Acer Aspire 7741z-5731 and broke the retainer clip which keeps it scured to the motherboard. I was wondering if there was a way to get my hands on one that isn't broken. I don't really need to replace the motherboard if I just had the whole clip not broken one with a broken piece. I have been to all of the websites online on how to put your keyboard back into the motherboard with a broken clip or using something else.
If anyone has any help with this problem I would appreciate it. Thank you.

I so feel for you because I have run into this on at least 3 laps.
I tried the tape "solution", no go. Attempted to find another clip
retainer [upper hinge or slide out] no go, tried this and that, no go.
In the end, with each of them, a used motherboard had to go in
in place of the orig just because of the retainer parts.
VERY frustrating to say the least ! Good luck. I got my 3 at
ebay. I DID see used MB's over for the 7741z as low as $29.99..
There is a really Mickey Mouse "solution" and that's to buy
a cheap USB keyboard, plug it in and use it in place of the
orig keyboard, but Lord that is SOOO rat rod.
