I have an Acer Aspire 5745 that I have since replaced due to it killing two batteries. I would like to give the laptop to my friend but if possible fix the issue with the battery since without it, the laptop is stuck being plugged in at all times. For some reason, the laptop is shorting out the battery or something because one day the battery is working for 3 or 4 hours but the next thing I notice is that the computer says it is "plugged in, not charging" and as soon as I unplug it from the wall, it shuts off. I thought it was just a bad battery the first time, bought a replacement and after only 2 weeks, that one died too. This computer hasn't had any water damage, and aside from this issue, works fine. Does anyone else have this problem or know what the problem could be?
Thank you,
Cameron

I'm sorry you have gone through so many batteries. It sounds like there could be a short between the power board and mainboard. This can cause what you are describing. This however would require repair. I would recommend contacting technical support in your region for service options.
Only other idea would be the replace the AC adapter and see how that works but best bet is it
