So I've just reinstalled Windows 7 ultimate (64-bit) and I've tried to get all my drivers working and all however, the only driver that is still not working is the Atheros AR5B97 Wireless Driver. I have tried to install it many times however I get a message saying "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)". Can anyone help me with this please? Thanks ![]()

make sure you have download the right driver its this one
| Wireless LAN | Atheros | Wireless LAN Driver (HB95/HB97) | 9.1.0.334 | 43.7 MB | 2011/01/12 |
...
you can force Windows to install the driver even if not signed

Not sure if I am posting this in the right place. I have a bizarre issue. My Aspire 7741-6694 was working fine, then the other day it was taking forever to reboot. Turned out to be an issue with my vga driver. I could not resolve the issue, multiple attempts to insall the driver failed. I ended up resintalling Windows 7.
No issues with my video driver, however I cannot install my wireless drivers. I've downloaded them directly from acer but they won't install. When I select browse the interenet it fails instantly, ie doesn't seem to be broswing the internet.
Perhaps this is a sympton of a bigger issue?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The 7741 model appears to have been shipped with wireless adapters from Atheros, Broadcomm or Intel. Go to control panel's device manager and see which wireless type you find under network adapters. Probably highlighted with a warning label.
