It is stuck in the BIOS screen right up to :
System Bios shadowed
Video BIOS shadowed
and below press F2 to enter setup, press f12 to chage boot devices.
I press either F2 or F12 and it goes no where, just stuck.
I am helping a friend with the 5740-6378. He got a disk error. I got the laptop and went to the BIOS ro remove the BIOS password he had set so it would be easy to work as I know machines might need a few reboots. I did see a disk error. I rebooted and it never rebooted.
I removed the HDD to see if in fact was deffective and I can see it sometimes in the BIOs of another machine but after rebooting (it needs to save changes to the BIOS new found storage) the HDD does not show up anymore. I am almost sure the HDD is bad. But any way to get pass the BIOS screen in which is stuck? I searched for info and i can't seem to find anyone with an identical or even similar problem
