Using this oldie just like a desktop. Always in plug only. After about 30 minutes unit powers down. Have went and made sure all the power hard drive off/down/sleep settings are NEVER, even battery hard drive off at NEVER and 6000 minute s on battery. Still does it. What I am overlooking?

Hi exchequer29
When you say "powers down", do you mean it goes through the normal shutting down routine (as if you've clicked "Shut Down") or does it immediately switch off?
Are there any error messages? Anything listed in Event Viewer that may point to a problem?

No relevant error messages I could see. Ends up full shut down not sleep or hibernate. On set is sudden and immediate, almost as if there was no power.

It may point to an overheating problem - the laptop shuts down to protect itself.
You can try a can of compressed air around the vent areas. Ideally, the laptop would need a few panels taken off so you can get to the dust easier. ONLY DO SO IF YOU'RE CONFIDENT!! Your local PC store can clean this up for you for a nominal charge.
