I finally found enough time to attempt the motherboard reflow today, I assembled it all back together and still getting the same results.

Just to tie up a few loose ends again before declaring that active devices in the graphics adapter have likely failed, Did you again try to---

Toggle the display Fn+F5?

HDMI out to a TV and toggle Fn+F6?

Flashback the old bios?

If, after all the hard work you've done to try to save this MB, your friend owes you big time and needs to  make a decision. Either replace the MB or get a newer computer and use it to retrieve data from the old HDD. If it were mine, I'd choose the latter course as most practical.

Hey JackE,

Yes I've tried toggling the display and flashing the BIOS after the repair.

The hard drive was already backed up months ago and I've been given the laptop for experimental purposes.
