OK, what filenames and extensions do you see?

I included a screenshot of the extracted files in my previous post, did you see it?

Sorry, no. Just an image placeholder. I'm specifically looking for 2 filenames. One probably has your model number in it. The other is flash***.exe which is usually bleeped out on this forum for some reason.

Oh, sorry I thought I uploaded the picture correctly, here's a list of the files:
in \DOS:
ACERACDC.exe
Efildr16 (file)
FLASH.bat
JE50109.bin
Pflash.exe
in \Windows:
WinFlashPg.exe

Copy, don't rename, JE50109.bin to JE50109.fd on the USB stick. Insert the stick, press and hold Fn & Esc, Then power up while still holding the Fn & Esc keys. Don't let go of the Fn & Esc till you hopefully see LED activity on the stick. Report back with results.

I did what you said and held down FN + ESC until the USB flashed twice but it hasn't done anything, do I need to hold it down longer? Does the USB need to be a specific format?

If this didn't work, then I think we need to get him on the case again for some next steps. You can send him a PM alert. I'll do the same. Maybe others will chime in as well, Stay tuned.

I tried it again, holding those keys down for over 2 minutes and it didn't do anything.
Hecticated, what makes you think it needs a new motherboard?
em 02-02-2014 03:02 AM
The fact that you couldn't get the TV or VGA to toggle on suggests but doesn't prove that the graphics adapter has failed. Unfortunately, the adapter is integrated with the MB so it's not just a matter of simply replacing the graphics adapter as you could do for an older desktop machine. I think this is what Hecticated was suggesting based on experience with is Toshiba but let's wait and see what he has to say. Also, let's wait and see what insights ScottyC might offer on trying to resolve your particular BSOD issue.
