Hi,

I flashed an old BIOS version by mistake that resulted my Acer Apire 5745g stop working. When I press power button, a black screen comes up, nothing happens afterwards.

I tried the following to fix but no success yet. Any other ideas welcome. Please help.

1. I downloaded the latest BIOS from Acer site, (BIOS_Acer_1.19_A_A.zip)

2. Unzipped by using the 7-zip program. there're 2 folders DOS and Windows.

3. From the Windows folder I unzipped the file ZR7_119w by using 7-zip program. Then I got this file - ZR7x64EC.fd

4. renamed it to ZR7X64.fd and copied it to a formatted USB memory stick.

5. While the laptop was off, connected the USB stick.

6. Pressed the Fn+Esc key, plugged in the power, battery was intact

7. While holding the Fn+Esc key, pressed the power button.

8. after 4-5 seconds I released the Fn+Esc keys.

9. the power button blinked for 7-8 seconds, fan speed became higher and laptop switched off on its own.

10. after 4-5 seconds it restarted but with the same black screen.

am I doing something wrong here?

1- Have you access to Boot Menu or Bios Utility?

2- Did you note the original bios version before to flash it?
