Is the 4GB RAM recognised by BIOS?
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Also accessing BIOS via F2 does not offer Advanced in Menu.

via msconfig: Boot Advanced Option Max Memory is unticked and thus 0

Have you tried connecting the 4GB RAM stick only and see if your system will boot?

Suspect the other channel's 2GB memory is soldered in, as it is not visible, and thus presumably not removable. Certainly every time I refit the removable 2GB stick which made up the original spec of 4GB, the laptop boots up, but of course system is slow. But not a slow when the 4GB is installed.

Open 'run' command and enter 'msconfig'. Then go to boot>advanced options and set the maximum memory to 6000mb - this might work. The 4GB RAM you have installed is 1600mhz and your laptop supports up to 1066mhz but that cannot be a reason why this happens, as the ram is downclocked automatically to 1066mhz. It could be that there is some conflict between the integrated and dedicated ram. I don't see other reason why this happens.

Most likely the ram is not compatible with your laptop.

Set 0 memory to 6144MB no difference still shows hardware figure set aside of 4.6GB.
