Just looking for a little feedback what other users think of this monitor. I use a MacBook Pro Retina Display along with this monitor. I"m noticing that desktop icons, upper menu bar are slightly pixelated & thius slightly fuzzy to my eye. I certainly didn't expect the acer to appear exactly as the retina screen, but I thought it would come close. I've played around with the different E-Technology settings but it does not have an impact at all. The resolution is set to maximum 2560x1080.
I think it must have something to do with how the monitor renders text and small icons. Its a hard thing to describe but its almost like there's an slight pillow bevel occurring on small text/icons. I'm a designer so I notice these things.
Would like to hear from others and if they've experienced this as well.
Thanks!
Eddie

Eddie,
I think there some issues with Macbook's and running 21:9 resolutions from my research. Here's a link with some of the best data. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4672999?start
The pixelation is probably because the monitor is being forced into a 16:9.

Hello. My name is Damian. I just joined the forum because I have a question about this monitor.
I just purchased this monitor brand new, and on my 2nd day of using it a thin green vertical line appeared on the right side of the sceen. I reacted by switching the power off for a few minutes and then turning it back on. The line has dissapeared and the screen looks normal again.
But I'm wondering, if this is a warning sign of a future problem that I should be concerned about?
Thanks ![]()

Thank you for the recommendation (although your reply took a little longer than expected!). The link you provided gave me some answers. I was using an HDMI out of my MBP Retina (2012) into the B296CL. I get a proportional full screen image but icons & text look pixellated. I decided to try using a Apple Thunderbolt to DVI adaptor instead. Gave it a try on the B296CL, whola! Pixellation is gone. Icons & text look smooth...BUT now I"ve got a letterbox effect on the left & right. Urgh. Ok, next up... the SwitchResX application. I'll report back soon...
