Hello.

When I try to install Linux (different OS's) on the AP1000 with USB it give me the option on reboot to boot from USB ZIP. I also changed the boot sequence in BIOS to USB ZIP, USB FDD, USB CD-ROM in that order. No results.

The comp is installed with Windows 7 and Windows XP.

The networkcard is not recognized by Windows XP and after installing the E-Framework software the computer just keep rebooting.

Windows 7 isn't accessable because i need a password to get in the account and it is lost.

the BIOS version is 2.4.

Is it an option to Flash the BIOS. I had a similar issue with my old Acer laptop and solved it with flashing. If so, what version do i need to install?

I tried flashing the BIOS with the BIOS_R03-B0 file.

I get the following 2 errors:

Erase failure, hardware might be protected

    Second message:

    FHW ROM is write protected

please make sure whether lockout jumpers is set to correct or not

Is there anyone who can guide me or direct me to documentation on how to do this on my AcerPower 1000?

    Much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
