windows 8 Acer iconia w510 - no camera seen in "scanners and digital cameras" sections

as in topic,

how to add built-in camera in windows 8 in w510?

I wanted to add a photo directly from camera to Word processor, but as long as windows 8 does not see it in above section it is impossible.

It is quite important Smiley Happy

Does anyone have any idea?

I will be grateful for help.

    Are you not able to use the camera at all? If you can access the camera and take a picture, you should be able to add an attachment or copy and paste the picture into the word processing application itself.

    Hello, thank you for the answer.

    I am able to use original widows camera application, so I can manually add images to word.

    In my work I have to do repeat this activity many times a day.

     

    What exactly I need is to allow to start the default software from within Word and to insert an image directly into a document. If my camera is not seen in the section cameras I am not able to do that.

     

    It would spare few hours monthly for me.

     

    I wiIll be grateful for help.

    I am unsure how one would go about doing that honestly, that sounds like an alteration of an application itself to embed another application to work inside it.

    Ok, then maybe you can tell me, why I cannot use the camera in Picasa application?

    Yes, it is seen by the application, however it cannot be used.

    We have a W510 here, it's a US build and I didn't see Picasa on it. I'm in the process of performing updates (including 8.1 update) to see if it gets installed at some point, I'll update you once the updates are all done.

    The W510 I have here (US) has finished updating to 8.1 and I've made sure it has all the updates done. I do not see a Picasa application listed to test for you to verify functionality. I also do not have Microsoft Office installed on it as we do not have a license key for it. Could you provide me with a factory loaded application that I can test this out in, if possible?
