I burned the recovery discs a long time ago. It won't boot from disc 1. (I don't know if it's supposed to) When I tried to restore from disc using the system recovery program accessed by pressing Alt-F10 at boot, it fails on the second disc. When I tried to reset to factory from that same recovery program, it asked for a password which I have no clue what it is. (I didn't buy the machine new) Thanks for any assistance.

Hello,
1- Restore with CD/DVD (french video)
2- Restore from the recovery partition
3- Default password 6 zeros (000000) for Windows Vista.

Thank you for the reply. 000000 didn't work for the password. I can't use the discs as I described in my original post.

1- Have you watched the video #2?
2- If your DVDs don't work, I suggest you to order the eRecovery Media from your Acer store (cheaper).

It's working from the discs now. I didn't change the boot order in the BIOS so it could boot from disc 1. I watched the french video and figured out that's what I needed to do. Thank you!

You're welcome! That's a current error.
