nVidia GeForce 9500M in Aspire 8920G has failed

I have come across information regarding a manufacturing issue that nVidea had with some of its graphics cards which could have been installed in some Acer notebooks back in 2008/2009.

Aparently the CEO of nVidia accepted responsibility and still considers any failures, even now, as a warranty replacement/repair because the problems are only just happening. The problem shows up as overheating, blank screen, LAN card failure.

My nVidia GeForce 9500M in my Aspire 8920G has failed. Blank screen. How would or could I know if it falls within the promised "warranty" from nVidia? Or is it an Acer issue?

Have you tried to cable out to a TV or external monitor when you get a blank screen? What does device mgr find when you do have a screen or external video?
