My E1 has two RAM slots, one currently occupied by an 8GB chip....I would like to plug another 8GB (for a total 16GB) into the empty slot, but will the machine support it or am I wasting my money?

    Hello,

    Yes you can. Your laptop supports up to 16Gb - DDR3L - 1600MHz (2x8Gb).

    Here is an original memory module of 8Gb:

    OK, thank you so much. And would you recommend that part # you stated, or would this be just as good?

    It's about 33% cheaper....

    My budget is limited so I thought that if it's the same result to buy another brand and save money, why not? I'm also having trouble finding the same module for a reasonable price

    Ok I understand but Hynix is randomly compatible with the other brands.

    Do you know the brand and the part number of your current memory module of 8Gb?

    Smiley Happy it's the Acer part number that I stated:

    KN.8GB07.013 = KN8GB07013=kn8gb0701333939cdcmn00

    The Kingston P/N is: ACR16D3LS1KFG/8G

    Tomorrow I'll try to find a compatible one on your online shop linked and in your budget.

    Hello,

    I finally found a compatible memory module in your budget (I hope): Samsung M471B1G73QH0-YK0

    You'll be able to install with your Kingston memory module.

    So the RAM arrived Monday, I installed it yesterday and have been testing it....the system recognizes it in the BIOS and Windows and all is good! Finally my old budget laptop runs almost as fast as my quad core tablet! Woohoo! Thanks again laurent_14!
