Touchpad Not working right

After a basic windows update my touchpad reverted to basic functionality, I lost all gestures and the finger tracking is barley there. It is almost as if no driver is installed. Under the mouse settings all advanced fucntionality was missing. So I uninstalled the drivers, redownloaded them from Acer, made sure to install them directly to the mouse hardware amd rebooted and no sucess. My comuter was reading the touchpad as a Synaptics Pointing device, but there still were no guestures and terrible tracking.

After exaughsting everything I could thing of I did a system refresh, this did not immedietly work because I still had to uninstall and reinstall the drivers. Once this was done it FINALLY worked again. However then my laptop updated to 8.1 and I hit the same problem again. And yes I was sure I was installing the proper drivers for my model and the proper OS version.

Since It stopped working again this time I went for a full factory reset, so I am starting fresh on Windows 8 and I STILL can not get the touchpad to work properly.

Reinstall the original driver from Recovery. Besure to uninstall, check delete software in Device manager before install.

No sucess. Its the same issue. The synaptics logo appears in the system tray, and when clicked on it identifies the mouse as a synaptics pointing device but there are no gesture settings and the touchpad behaves like it has no driver installed.
