I need to know how to fix the problem. It is not constant, but tonight, horrible.

I move the cursor, raise my finger from the keypad and the cursor jumps around.

How can I fix this? Do I need to re-boot the computer or is there a control button to press or something to change?

I am ready to throw this laptop in the trash!!

    (1) Acer Model & number? (2) Current Windows version? (3) Factory-installed Windows version? Jack E/NJ

    It's an Acer Switch 10, with factory-installed Windows 8.1

I hope that you can help out!

"Intermittent" touchpad issues like this suggest that the touchpad's ribbon cable connector at the mainboard needs to be re=seated a half-dozen or so times to clean its contacts. High humidity is a likely cause.  Google "switch 10" "disassembly" for videos on how to access this connector. Thanks much. I will watch the video. I am not very handly where fine motor skills are involved, but it is worth a look-see as it is miserable to try to work with that machine.

Normally, the touchpad is far too sensitive. But the erratic part is nerve-wracking.

    Thanks again,

Agreed. For me too! Good luck with re-seating the connector! Jack E/NJ
