Do you mean shutting down or turning off by itself? If this is what you mean, the computer may be overheating due to dust/dirt inside. Try vacuuming the air intake port.

Thanks.  Found the air intake dusty and vacuumed.  Great thought but I'm still shutting down.  Is there a timer selection for auto shut off?

What Windows version is on the machine. If it seems to be going into a normal Windows sleep or hibernation mode type of shutdown, you can check control panel's power options and power plan. What I mean by normal is that when you push the power button or otherwise re-boot/re-start the computer, there are no warnings or error messages suggesting that Windows was improperly shutdown or stopped.

Thanks Jack.  Power selection wrong. Changed to "recommended" setting.  Duh. All better.
