Need help flashing Acer Aspire 4820TG BIOS (blackscreen problem)

So my laptop will boot up and the windows startup sound effect plays like normally and everything, but the screen is completely black. I've tried several things like connecting to an external monitor, power resetting and testing if the RAM is the problem, but nothing worked. Another possible solution recommended on this forum (http://ccm.net/forum/affich-49172-screen-doesn-t-displa...) by user "chris9431" (scroll down a bit) recommended to people facing this problem to update their BIOS, I've also seen this being recommended elsewhere, so I figured I'd give it a shot, but I'm facing some issues.

So far I've formatted my USB drive using FAT32 and created a DOS startup disk on the drive. I used this video when doing this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfJKZKWHFZc
However the video states that in the zip file from the PC manufacturer should contain a BIOS update file with a .rom or .bin file, however, the BIOS update zip folder I downloaded from Acer's website only included two folders, "DOS" and "Windows". The DOS folder had a file named "ZQ1_125.EXE" and the Windows folder had a file named "ZQ1_125W.exe".

What should I do now? Do I put both of the exe files on the USB drive and then hold down fn+esc and click the power button or something? I really need help with this, so thanks for any answers

Before you try flashing the bios again that could brick you machine, have you tried to toggle the external monitor on and off (HDMI or VGA) with the Fn+F5 or Fn+F6 toggle key combos?
