    • Max supported resolution for Aspire 5755G

    Hi all! 

     

    I have an Aspire 5755 with Geforce 540M

    I've attached a high resolution(2560x1440) display through HDMI

    The maximum resolution I can use is 1920x1080

    I'm using Ubuntu and at first thought that it's an Ubuntu issue. But I have installed the latest Nvidia drivers and this didn't help.

     

    Any suggestions?

      Hello,

       

      The official specifications:

      • VGA port up to 2048 x 1536 at 75 Hz
      • HDMI port up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz
      France

      Any reason why does this limitation exists? As the Geforce 540M supports much higher resolution?

      And is there any way to overcome this limit and get the maximum resolution as the graphics card allows?

      Does anyone know how to overcome this limitation...?

      Tried to update my bios but it didn't help
