uj890as Dvd-ram not starting to work

A while ago, my disc drive for my laptop was making a loud noise whenever I place a DVD in. Sometimes the disc would work, sometimes it won't

I'm not sure how that happened. The only I recalled that may be the case was when I uninstall the trial version of NTI Media Maker Express Overview. Could that be the reason it's acting like that, or is it just because the Drive is acting up due to age?

It's a matshita dvd-ram uj890as.

Make sure there isn't already a disk in it. Shine a light in and see if there is any other foreign object in it.  If it's making a loud mechanical noise, it probably has a hardware problem.
