Hi,

In short I've had to replace my hard drive due to old one being very slow (even after resetting).

Runnning Windows 8.1 32 Bit now (instead of 64 Bit), on a 150gb replacement drive I had laying around, working like a dream.

The only issue is my touchpad no longer functions.

I have tried both drivers on the Acer Drivers web page for this model (Aspire E5-571G-78FP) to no avail.

The Synaptics and Elan touchpads say they are ready/installed, however touchpad still doesnt function.

I have tried pressing fn+f7 multiple times, nothing.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,

anan

    anan96,

Uninstall the touchpad drivers and try to install the ones that should be installed rather than try to update the driver itself. If you are unsure of what shipped by default (ELAN or Synaptics) you can click the Need to know the hardware on your system to choose the right drivers link. Of course, our site only has 64-bit drivers loaded, you might need to seek out the manufacturer of the touchpad itself for drivers of 32-bit to see if that works.
