Hiya Fellas,

I own an Aspire VN7-791G and i was having problems when i upgraded my BIOS to 1.11 but i have downgraded to 1.10 yesterday. And now i'm noticing that when CPUs reach 70+ degrees celcius on a medium to almost low load, the fans start to make noise and the laptop becomes warm right above the function keys.

is this normal?

If it is not, is there anyway i can obtain the factory BIOS firmware version 1.07 that is unlisted in the acer driver downloads page?

    HusamN34,

There are certain features on this unit that cause the fan to kick on a bit, Acer Coolboost and Acer DustDefender, which are designed to keep the system cool and as dust free as possible. They can be accessed via the Acer Quick Access if you haven't check there yet, or have and made some changes to the settings (such as turning Coolboost off).

    Thanks for the reply,

I already know about the Acer's Dust Defender and it doesn't make any noise when it is running.

About Acer's Coolboost, it looks like my device doesn't have that feature:

There's something definitely not right, i swear after the BIOS update the system became unstable, and no chance on getting back to the previous version, really dissapointed.

Also, the CPU temperature reaches from 70 to 99 when i'm playing games or using adobe premiere, and i'm using a cooling pad with two fans, the device still feels hot, and i checked there's no dust at all in the vents, again nothing like this was happening before the BIOS update.

    HusamN34,

Thanks for the update. The only other thing I can suggest is we take a look at it at the closest repair depot and make sure there isn't something going on with the hardware we are missing.
