Has anyone got an ssd to function properly in a Aspire 7750-6423?

I tried a Crucial MX 100 512GB SSD. Everything works fine if plugged into the outlet. Nothing goes well runing on battery. With the original hard drive installed there are no issues. Let me knowif you got anything to work? Has anyone tried the second hard drive bay?
