So, the trackpad on my ES1-111M is freezing up again and just stops and becomes unresponsive.
Pressing FN+F7 to turn off the trackpad function and then turn it back on again sometimes 'releases' it. A plugged in USB mouse works fine.
I have updated the BIOS as instructed in my previous thread, it worked better for a while then back to freezing up again. I have tried to update the driver and I even completely reinstalled Windows and factory reset my Acer Aspire, again, worked great up to a point and then just started freezing up again.
Any thoughts or suggestions on how to solve this? Could it be a hardware issues and nothing to do with Windows? I have not even had the device for one year. The trouble is that the issue is intermittent and does not always happen so I am worried Acer support (in Thailand) won't diagnose and test the machine enough and will see it works and assume it is fixed without any real investigation.
Can I try any other drivers for the trackpad (Windows 8.1) from another Acer model to see if that helps?
Many thanks - Ian
