Hi,

Have had this laptop since October 14. No issues so far until last week when my mouse pad begain to behave erratically. Slow to react to touch, then moves uncontrollably around the screen. Impossible to use laptop with mouse pad this way, have had to plug in a mouse, which is not ideal for using at all times.

Any advice on how this may be fixed?

Thank you

I did a live chat this morning with acer over the same problem. They told me they are aware of issues with a recent windows update and suggested I do a system restore to a date a week ago. Still trying to do that. AND, although not told, I suppose that auto-update would have to  be turned off or you'd end up with the same issue after an auto-update !!

    The same here:

Please try to install the following Driver:

    http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/AMT/AMT_Intel_10.0.30.1054_W81x64_A.zip?acerid=635567404861062159

After installing the driver the Problem should be solved.

Please let me know if this fix the Problem for you!

    Regards

    Thanks for replies.

Ridiculous to pay just under a grand for a device that is corrupt.

Wish I knew about this issue before I purchased, from searching the internet today, it seems quite common, yet no total solution as of yet.

    Very frustrating.

Maiki69, I tried to run that installation but it gave me an error 'Platform not supported'.

    Okay, right i see.

Than please go to your taskmanager and kill the Task "Intel(r) Technology Access Service".

The Task is the Main Reason for the Problem.

After that, look under Programms and Featires if the "Intel(r) Technology Access Service" is installed.

When it´s listed here, delete it.

It´s not a problem of the hardware of your unit.

The Problem is caused of a windows update which has failures.

Followed but same again, platform not supported.

Would it be advisable to uninstall the touchpad driver and re download from acer?

    No, I ended it.

After that I ran a search for it but it did not show up.
