Attempted a system restore but restore did not initialize and went into a loop. After a long delay itwent to a BSoD and a continuous loop saying it would restart the computer. It didn't. Can't shut down to do a restart.

Was it still bootable to Windows when you tried restore? If so and it did not start the restore, it should be ok.

Remove the battery and unplug it and it will shut off. Then boot it and see what you have.

Unplugged, removed battery, replaced battery, powered up and BSoD returned as before indicating that windows was trying to collect error infoprior to re-booting. Still looping through BSoD as it reaches the 100% point of gathering data.

If you can access Bios by Holding F2 when starting, check if your primary HDD is still your first boot option. If it isn't change it.

Windows Boot Manager was#1, HDD was #2. Changed HDD to #1. Tried rebooting - nochange.

Did you save the settings before you left Bios? Something should have changed.

Refresh from Advanced Boot Options did the trick. Many thanks.
