Aspire e15-511-p0bm stopped working

I was looking through a PDF file, with the laptop pluged into the power and the battery at about 70%. I closed the laptop with the cahrge still on and did some washing up i the other room. when i came back about 30min later the computer wouldnt turn on. The light for the charge doesnt turn when the power is plugged in and when i press the power butter there is abslutly nothing that happens. ive tried plugging the power and removing the battery and putting the battery back in but all to no avail.

The laptop had been working fine before which is all the more puzzling.

I figure its probably something to do with the power port or mother board.

can anyone help or give suggestions as to what i should do?

Check the power supply output voltage with a multimeter. Report back. Jack E/NJ

I've checked the plug and that seems to be putting out fine. But the laptop it's self wasn't giving me anything and I couldn't get my leads into the battery as they were too thick for the slots.
