Aspire E3-112 Bluetooth Mouse won't connect

I recently bought an Aspire E3-112 running win 8.1

I cannot get it to pair via bluetooth to a mouse (I have tried two) but it will pair to a set of headphones.  I have reinstalled the drivers recommnded by Acer chat (Atheros and Broadcom (I think)) but still no luck.   The mouse connects fine on an older PC rnning Win 7 via the dongle which came with it.

Any other ideas of what I can do next as this would be very helpful to me especially as one of the downsides of the E3-112 is that it has only two usb ports and I don't want to tie one up with a dongle.

    BillS719,

If the Bluetooth on the notebook pairs with other devices it could be a compatibility issue with the device that you are trying to pair it with. You can make sure that you are using the most up to date Windows updates, make sure and check the optional updates as it might have some hardware drivers listed there that may resolve the problem.
