Hello

I have a NEW Aspire E1-731 and when i insert the battery it says "pluged in not charge", i have this laptop in my store sealed in a box for 1 year and it's out of warranty now.. Smiley Sad

I have try the ACPI unistall method and to plug in the battery when the laptop is on but still nothing, i have also buy a NEW battery but again the same.. i have also try a new power adaptor with no results.

When the laptop is off the battery led is blinking orange.

OS is Windows 7 with latest drivers from Acer site, but i don't think this is software problem.

Can anyone from ACER told me how to repair the laptop? i'm laptop techician..

This is the link from my laptop. Barcore (4713147088485)

    con55,

If you have tried a different battery and are still experiencing the issue it could be a hardware issue or a software issue. Try these steps in this site and see if it resolves the issue.

Hello Justin and thank you for your time.

I have try the solution that you provide with no results.

The original battery that comes witht he laptop is not charging after the trick with the ACPI, and the replacement battery says that is charging but the charging level is at 60% and it wont move up, also when i remove the power from  the laptop and the battery is pluged in the laptop closes, that means that the battery charging level is not true (it says 60% charged), this happent with both batterys, (the original says 51% and the comaptible 60%) but both are empty.

Please note that i have update the BIOS in the latest version.

I have this laptop in my shop for 1+ year and now that i want to sell it i can't, and it's out of warranty! i have spoke with acer customer service and they told me that for business it's 1 year warranty and 2 years for retail customers.

But i'm business and i want to sell it in a retail customer!! and i have all ready lost a customer because of this problem.

I have also find a seller in ebay that sales his E1-731 in very low price because of this problem, so i thing that this series is FACTORY DEFECT.

Let me know if any other solution come up, or if i can repair it under acer warranty. the laptop is NEW.

    con55,

Sorry to hear it is giving you so much trouble, I do have another question though. Does the battery charging light come on when the notebook is powered off and the AC adapter is plugged in? I know that you said you tried another adapter and the issue persisted, but if it is lit it might be a hardware problem that only a major part replacement can resolve. Another thing to look for, is the pin inside the notebook where the adapter plugs loose or missing?

    Hello

The battery charging light is flashing orange when the laptop is ON and it's constant orange when the laptop is OFF.

It's very strange that both batterys show up as charged in the system icon (win7) but they are empty..
