Hey guys,

I've had my laptop for 3 years and 4 months. It still runs very smoothly (apart from overheating). It's had a battery replacement and a RAM upgrade (added one Cucial 4GB 1333), both within the last 8 months.

Around 1 year ago I started getting several Blue Screens. It became a regular occurance to the point where I could no longer use my laptop since it'd BSOD within a minute of logging in. I could however use safe mode.

I sent it in at a local computer place and things improved and then worsened again. I considered it might be the RAM so I got another 4GB. Things improved again for a a month or two. Later it'd blue screen when running more intense tasks, slowly getting worse.

2 months ago I had my laptop formatted thinking it might be Windows 7 getting old and had a fresh copy installed. Within a week it BSODed again. I can't run too many programs or webpages either since things start crashing at 50% (4GB) RAM usage.

------

So, it's not the software. I've run MemCheck86+ 4.20 but it passed with no errors for the RAM.

What do you think it could be? Is it fixable?

since you did memtest without errors, i would try to update the chipset drivers.

if the issue persist, it looks that something is going worse on the motherboard, reading your issue history, it looks like a ram/memory management issue.
