Aspire 5742g throwing blue screen error when I start game on nVidia GT 540M.
I am having Aspire 5742g laptop here is basic details of it
Windows 7 Home 64
3 GB Ram
nVidia GT 540M, intel integrated HD.
I bought it in year 2011 so now warranty is expired. My laptop battery is also expired; I am using it through only its charger which is working fine till now.
After my battery expired, nVidia graphic card also not working properly. I am getting error whenever I start any game or any other graphics related stuff. Is there any misconnection between dead battery and nVidia card? I can play games at lower graphics by disabling nVidia card. can anyone tell me why this issue is occurring? It was working fine till battery was working fine. Please see blue error screen what I am getting. Please help me.

Uninstall your nvidia drivers, download from nvidia website the latest drivers and install it:
http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/78877
then check if BSOD still appears.
if it still appears, probably a good battery is needed to compensate the voltage consumption.

i suspect some hardware failure on the nvidia vga ram or your system is not giving enough power to the vga, so can be a bad battery (under specs) or the ac adapter.

You mean compatible battery won't work? I just purchased one, it's not original but it’s compatible. The charger is just working fine. How can I check where the problem is? Or is there any way to verify that VGA is getting enough power? I mean any app or through BIOS.. any thing?0 -
Maybe the compatible battery doesn't have enough Ampere (Ah) or voltage is too low, need to double check it.
you can check your VGA stats with GPU-Z:

tried this. first it shows 'intel opencl bug detected' error and then shows popup in tray 'nvidia stopped responding and has successfully recovered' and starts hanging and than BSoD.

Already done this step.
Can you tell me where windows keep cresh report or logs. I think it might be helpful to rectify the issue.
after doing every thing I installed Windows 8.1 but still no use. now I am getting DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION when I start GUP-Z on nvidia.
