To be safe, delete BIOS.WPH, the 2.00MB file. Then rename BIOS(2).WPH, the 1.03MB file, to BIOS.WPH. So you then should have only these 5 files on the USB drive.

    .

    minidos.sys 2.73KB
    P 39B
    phlash16 122KB
    v116.rom 1.03MB
    BIOS.WPH 1.03MB

First check if the lid screen is turned on. Press the Fn+F6 toggle key combination. Jack E/NJ

OK. Next, try to HDMI out to an external TV. You may have to turn the TV screen on with the Fn+F5 toggle key combination. Jack E/NJ

Please download the file again on another computer. It should be a compressed file. When you double click on it, it should create two subdirectories. One of which is DOS. Please tell me the names of the files that are in that DOS subdirectory. Jack E/NJ

OK. Before proceeding to the next step, what problem were you originally having with the machine that you felt flashing the BIOS would fix? Jack E/NJ

These are the 3 Files in DOS subdirectory of the BIOS version 1.16

    1-P

    2-phlash16

    3-V116.ROM

Google "Phoenix Bios Recovery" with the quotes. Follow the directions for downloading and creating a bootable FAT-formatted USB drive with a wincrisis tool. Then copy all 3 files from the BIOS version 1.16 DOS subdirectory to the root directory of the bootable USB drive. Let it overwrite phlash16 if it asks. Then make a 2nd copy of V116.ROM on the USB drive and rename it BIOS.WPH. Let it overwrite BIOS.WPH if it asks.

Then follow steps 6 thru 11 except use the Fn+Esc hotkey combination, NOT Fn+B or Win+B combination. Watch for LED activity on the USB drive before releasing the Fn+Esc keys. If LED activity seems to stop or doesn't work as described, then type "P" without the quotes from the keyboard. Then press the enter key to see if LED activity resumes and flashes the bios. Report back with results.
