I have an Acer aspire 4315-2004 laptop. I am upgrading to a new one and would like to reset to factory settings but I don't have the recovery CD anymore. I booted up using alt+f10 and chose restore to factory setting option. Once chosen it asks for a password. I have had the laptop for over 10 years and have forgotten the password. I tried going to computer management / disc management / to get to PQservice partition to reach the file aimdrs.dat to reset the password but can not get to the PQservice point.
I also tried going to F2 during start up and tried disabling the password from there, but I instead accidentally set the HHD password. Now I am not able to undo that password that was made.
Need some help to figure out what to do next.

Does this mean you F2'd into the BIOS menu and now you can't F2 back into it? Jack E/NJ
