I did buy an Acer laptop with Windows 8.1 installed. I have software which runs only under windows 7 so I need to downgrade the laptop to windows 7. At least I tried but the laptop doen's reboot anymore.

I see 5 partitions:

Schijf 0 Partititie 1: Recovery 600 MB available 306 MB (OEM gereserveerd)

Schijf 0 Partititie 2: ESP 300 MB available 246 MB (Systeem)

Schijf 0 Partititie 3: 128 MB available 306 MB (MSR gereserveerd)

Schijf 0 Partititie 4: 449,6 GB available 306 MB (Primair)

Schijf 0 Partititie 5: Push Button Reset 600 MB beschikbaar 306 MB (OEM gereserveerd)

I removed Partititie 4 and created a new one. Installing windows 7 works but after reboot It stops and I got an error message:

One pager story about recently changed software...with below:  file:\windows\system\winload.efi
status: 0xc0000426. The digitale signature of this file can't be checked

Which partition can/should I remove without running into troubel to be able to install windows 7 succecfull?

Thanks for your help!

ok, revert to UEFI and follow this guide to install windows 7 under UEFI:

    Hi,

Got some progress but still running into trouble.
Managed to switch off secureboot, install windows 7 and boot without error messages. The problem now is the laptop freezes on "windows starting" same story if i boot in windows safe mode.

Have you any USB device connected?

    probably there's some hardware conflict.

check if pressing windows key logo + d or ALT+TAB, any popup confirmation prompt is in the background.

i would also try to install under Legacy but keep in mind you need to convert HDD from GPT to MBR and you can face some hardware/drivers issue.

some hardware is not compatible with windows 7.
