So my laptop's backlit lights will not turn off even when I do Fn + F9. Is there a way I can fix this issue without bringing it in for repairs?

Thanks in Advance!

First, does your keyboard's F9 key have a KBbacklight icon on it's cover? If it does, do you know if the Fn+F9 toggle combo has ever worked to turn the backlight off and on? Jack E/NJ

Hi, I too am having a similar problem where I cannot turn off the backlit keyboard using the Fn+F9 keys, nor does it turn off automatically. If you have a fix for this please do let me know.

    Thanks. :)

Sounds like the keyboard's backlight wire connector needs to be re-seated or has come loose from the mainboard. If your system is still under warranty, this should be handled by an ACER warranty repair service. Jack E/NJ
