Acer Aspire E11 Constant crackling sound

I recieved my laptop today, and from the moment I booted it up, there was this crackling noise (which is really annoying). It sounds like speaker crackling, but it's still there after I mute the laptop. I'm not sure if this is normal or not, it would be nice if it could go away.

Thought this would be a nice quiet laptop, given one of its selling points was fanless.

the speakers are at the bottom of your E11, can you check where the sound is more noticeable?

this crackling sound starts just after pressing the power button or only once booted to windows?

since it's a fanless device, in my opinion only 2 things can make this sound:

    1) HDD

    2) some electric interference on speakers

a little video can be very helpful.

Sorry I don't know how to send a video,

But I checked the speakers, and it's not the source. The crackling sound comes from around the back right corner of the laptop.

The sound also becomes more intense when I launch/click something new.

Also it was right when I hit the power button.

does it sound like this? (turn up the volume)

this is a standard HDD sound, nothing wrong, if yours is louder, i would download this tool:

    http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskInfo/index-e.html

and run a test, check if it gives you any error.

    Yeah, pretty much. Smiley Tongue

So is it normal to be hearing it? Cause with my other laptops and desktops this sound has never been so prominant or constant.

I mean, it's a cheap laptop so it's understandable, but was just wondering.

Give it a check with the software in my previous post.

it's the only way to know if it's faulty or working.

yep, so maybe the HDD is a little bit noisy compared to others, also the size of laptop can affect HDD noise.

if you want silence....SSD is the right choice but that's another story. Smiley Happy
