Hello friends,

as above - I have 8 years old Acer Aspire 6920G. I've reinstalled Windows recently, and after week of using it, this problem occured - when I switch on my laptop, display is completly dark (no diffrent as laptop switched off), but everything else seems to work okay; I can hear Windows sounds, fan is running etc.

I've opened laptop, but LED cables seems fine.

Do you have any ideas what is a problem?

P.S. Sorry for my english, it's not the best one.

    Hello,

Do you have the same issue with an external monitor or a LCD TV in using the VGA or HDMI port?

    Note:

[Fn]+[F5]: Display toggle - Switches display output between the display screen, external monitor (if
    connected) and both.

[Fn]+[F6]: Screen blank - Turns the display screen backlight off to save power. Press any key to return.

    Thank you for your answer.

Unfortunately, both methods failed to solve the problem.

When I've plugged external monitor via VGA port, it said "no VGA detected" or smth like that.

    Any other possible solutions?

    Hello,

1- What model do you own exactly?

2- Could you give me the first ten characters of the computer serial number (S/N)? Only the first ten.

    Hello,

    Sorry for the delay!

Could you post here a picture of the label sticked near the keyboard?

    Hello,

Thanks for your pictures! Very useful.

I found your graphic board but I don't know if it's an HyperMemory graphic board.

First I would try to boot up with only one memory module. If no results, this means that the graphic board is "dead".

    Here is the part number:

    VG.86M06.004VGA BOARD.M86ME.512MB.W/HDCP (MSI HD3650)

Here are the original graphic boards for Aspire 6920G series:

    Spoiler
    55.APQ0N.011VGA BD.MXM/8PGSH/512MB.W/HDCP
    VG.86M06.004VGA BOARD.M86ME.512MB.W/HDCP (yours GDDR2)
    VG.8PG06.005VGA BD.NB8P-GS/512MB.W/HDCP
    VG.9PG06.006VGA BD.512MB.GDDR3.NB9P-GS
    VG.9PG06.008VGA BD.512MB.GDDR3.NB9P-GS

    Note:

Don't forget to remove the battery before to do anything.

Thank you very much for your effort!

Unfortunately, LED doesn't work, even after trying the thing with one memory module Smiley Sad

Any other suggestion, or is it almost a certain my graphic card is dead?

    Hello,

You could try through the HDMI port.
