Hello,

how much is duration expectancy before battery must be recharged for this model? I know it depends of what are you working, but my battery is empty after little more than one hour of usual work (internet browsing, no multimedia). I am on balanced power profile and not on full performance. Nothing working in a background. I even installed SSD. This was the case with the first battery when I bought my device five years ago and today I bought new battery with even more capacity and the short time of usage still remains.

Do you have screen brightness set to 100%? The screen is the biggest drain on the battery.

Try calibrating the new battery so it can get a sense of run time.

If you upgraded to Windows 8, you will have to go through settings to get to Safe mode.Keep it plugged in until you start Safe mode.

I am using Windows 7 ultimate. My screen brightness is on 40%. I repeat this was the case when I just bought my laptop and this is the case now with the second battery that arrived yesterday. Yesterday I fully recharged battery 3 or four times, every time when it dropped down on less than 10 %.

I didn't try this battery calibration I will try it now.

You didn't said anything about what is the normal working hours for my battery between two recharging? What can I expect, 2h? Maybe 3h top?

In a review of a Aspire 5536G on Notebookcheck

    "

In the BatteryEater Reader's test, representative for themaximum possible battery runtime to be awaited at minimal display brightness, deactivated WLAN in Windows energy savings profile, the test device reached 167 minutes, hence just 2 hours and 47 minutes.
A dramatical runtime cave in is to be noted under load.  In the BatteryEater Classic test (load, max. display brightness, WLAN on, high-performance profile) the runtime sinks to merely 47 minutes and therefore barely has relevance for the practical test.

A runtime of approx. 121 minutes can be counted with in practical surf modeat maximum display brightness and activated energy savings mode. With this, merely around 2 working hours are possible without an external power source.

70 minutes were established at watching a DVD movie - but at maximum brightness and high-performance profile. The battery life is definitely too short for a one and a half hour movie. Decreasing the brightness might just extract a few additional minutes."
