Hi all,

I replaced the mainboard of my Aspire 7520 laptop with one bought from eBay after my nVidia GPU dead. after replacement, every thing is working well except numpad that is not functional. pressing Numlock does not light the numlock LED. in the Bios it display it is a 5520 model. And when looking closer I noticed that the replacement board has already audio connector whereas the 7520 original one has not and uses a daughter board fixed on the laptop chassis connected with a small cable. Of course, the 5520 MB has the audi connector and I was Able to replace it easily.

I tried to flash the bios with the 7520 bios from Acer site without success. I tried resetting the bios without success. The vendor is saying that 5520 and 7520 have the same board. I could start a claim and get refunded but honestly, dismounting the 5520 MB, send it back, wait again for the repacement one will cost money and effort.

Does anyone knows how to convert this 5520 motherboard to a 7520 ?

Thanks in advance for any help
