6530 upgrade package

Hi!

I purchased my 6530 in August of 2009 and it's still going.  When I bought the laptop, I had no idea what a 64 bit computer was.  Now I do.  This is why it's taken me this long to realize that instead of getting a 64 bit Windows 7 upgrade for my 64 bit laptop, I got a 32 bit upgrade.  No wonder my laptop has not performed as well as others say it does for them.

It seems that there's no way to even discuss the matter with Acer, there is no way to talk to them unless the unit is still under warranty.

Any suggestions?

64 bit software is only worth if you have more than 4GB of ram.

a 64bit CPU capable is a different thing and can run smoothly with 32bit OS.

Thanks for the reply, IronFly!  Yes, the 6530 has only 3gb ram, so...if I upgrade this laptop to a win7 64 bit, will it function better or worse?

My question comes about because of the windows 10 free upgrade.  Should I upgrade to win7 64 bit before I do the win10 upgrade, then I'll have win10 64 bit on my best little laptop that I love...

    I appreciate the feedback... :-)
