Recovery discs stay on waiting to load, no progression.

PC has been shut down or crashed hard for 3 months. Enrolled with technical support and it was not recoverable with their assistance. Tech support recommended I obtain recovery discs to restore, but PC will not get past the "Please wait a moment" screen on the Gateway Recovery Management window. I have attempted the recovery via purchased discs and it continues to freeze on the "Please wait a moment" window in the Recovery Management.

    It could be that the hard drive is bad. If you have not tried already, do you have a known good hard drive to put in and see if the recovery media loads?
