Hi all, hoping someone would be able to tell me what determines the largest GB size SSD that I could upgrade my lappy with?

Thanks,

Rob

For Vista and Windows 7 with MBR, I think the max disk size is about 2 TB.  For Windows 8 or 10 with GPT, it's at least 256 TB.

Since most consumer SSDs are 1 TB or less, I don't think you'll have any problem with your BIOS if you wanted to add a 1 TB SSD (or less).  I would be shocked if your BIOS didn't allow a 1 TB SSD.....but I've been shocked before. Smiley Wink

    Thanks JordanB,

What's MBR mean? I'm not overly tech savvy, being a senior cit I need some education.
